Dark Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes
As Mrs. Baconninja, I often find myself caught up in the desire to add bacon to all recipes just to see what works. The Forum recently featured a story about bacon and the author was kind enough to include two bacon recipes, both of which interested me. Tonight I tried the first one, dark chocolate bacon cupcakes. I failed to take sufficient photos of the process…actually I failed to take ANY pictures in my excitement to try this chocolately-frosted pork fat creation. Lucky for me Baconnija stepped in and managed to get one picture of the final product before he ate the subject of the photo. I plan to try this recipe again and pledge to provide sufficient photographs next time. If you were fortunate enough to try one of these creations (and you know who you are!) I am accepting critisim, constructive or otherwise.

Tasted great! My only suggestion is to leave off the frosting put an extra slice of bacon across the top!

I love dark chocolate, so these were a win for me right out of the gate. Maybe more bacon in the mix, though, and choped finer through a food processor or something. Otherwise delicious!
They were good, perfect balance of flavor, nothing overpowering. Unique texture, with a nice moisture content.

The cupcake was delicious, even if the bacon got a little lost in the strong chocolate flavor. I wonder what would happen if bacon fat were mixed into the batter (and the frosting)?
I had a Bacon Cupcake and it was GREAT.
They are tasty indeed. I would prefer them to be less chocolate-y and more bacon-y. Maybe swap the paper cup… with a bacon cup!?!?
