We got contacted the other day by a songwriter named Hauk. He has a new album he has released called Baconic. I’ve listened to a couple of the tracks and even though it’s personally not my cup of tea, it’s not bad. Check it out for yourself. You can stream the entire album here:

and it is currently available on Amazon and Itunes as well. If you would like to check out more info on Hauk pull up www.haukmusic.com.
During a recent visit to Seattle, my wife (BaconWidow) and I found out about a bacon martini served at the Capital Club downtown. I was dubious as I heard from baconninja that his experience with a bacon martini at the Double Down in Las Vegas was disgusting at best . However, I am always looking for new ways to enjoy bacon and BaconWidow’s a trooper, so we made the 8 block trek to the Capital Club from our hotel. Interesting ambience, at the Capital Club. Kind of a Mediterranean look and feel to the place with a relaxed clientele (When I imagine a bar called the Capital Club, I tend to imagine douche bags in power suits).
THE MARTINI-
Surprisingly, the drink itself was very good. It wasn’t just bacon vodka in a glass. It was an in store created bacon vodka. The bartender explained that it was vodka infused with candied bacon. I think ‘infused’ in this case is a extra fancy word for a process that means you have bacon sitting in a jar of vodka, but whatever. This bacon infused vodka combines with Godiva Chocolate liquor and cream to have a nice smoothness to it. Kind of like an alcoholic glass of chocolate milk with a hint of bacon. That doesn’t sound so good when I type it out, but trust me, it was. As an added bonus the glass was rimmed with bacon salt and chocolate shavings. Nice touch. My only complaint is that there wasn’t a slice of bacon for a garnish.
THE TASTE TEST-
As I said before very tasty. It was chilled , chocolatey, bacony deliciousness. As an added bonus, the bartender gave me a shot of just the plain bacon vodka. It didn’t make me gag, but it isn’t something I would buy for a round of shots…unless someone was turning 21. Seems you always get a shot of some crap like a cement mixer, prairie fire or something to try to make you puke when you turn 21.
YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT MARTINIS-
One’s not enough, and 5′s too many…or something like that.
Maybe when I wake up I’ll post about bacon hangovers…..
Not only Best in Appearance, but pretty darn tasty as well…
Only thing I would do different would be to add more peppers, maybe a small Habanero…
I love this wendy’s commercial. The old lady yelling bacon is the best.
