This came across the e-mail today, and I got only one comment: I am trying them this weekend! They sound awesome! Please “ben the’reverend” send us pictures too.
like smores, but with bacon
no, not gimme some more bacon; no thank you, no more bacon- that was so delicious i can now die feeling my life is complete.
so you cannot do this one in the microwave, you will need a real wood fire.
2 strips bacon
1 large marshmallow
1 rectangle piece of chocolate bar
poke a hole through the marshmallow along the height axis (though the flat ends).
insert chocolate in marshmallow.
wrap 1 piece of bacon around the marshmallow at the same axis. hold temporarily with one finger.
wrap second piece of bacon perpendicular to the first to hold first piece in place.
insert toasting stick through the marshmallow so it pierces both free ends of the second piece of bacon.
toast until bacon is cooked to your desired cook-ed-ness of bacon, or until marshmallow begins to drip out.
be very careful not to allow the marshmallow to completely melt.
enjoy the wonderful combination of flavors, and the momentary stopping or your heart as you realize the fullness of this life altering experience.
On our way to Virgina MN for a hockey tournament we stopped at Village Square (http://www.villagesquarewalker.com/pizza.htm) in Walker MN. We ordered a Bacon Chicken Garlic pizza for the three of us. It was wonderful! The bacon was real bacon cut into squares, the garlic was fresh and very flavorfull. The pizza was some of the best I’ve ever had. This picture doesn’t do the pizza justice.
This bacon explosion was built by Kevin G. He stuffed his will all kinds of stuff. Looks pretty tasty!
A fellow co-worker, Travis S, brought this in to work today. It was very tasty. This is the first time he’s made it with bacon, my guess is it wont be the last! He also made spinach dip with it. We of course suggested adding crumbled bacon to that as well. A double dose of bacon can only make things better, right?

This bacon explosion was done by our co-worker, John M. That’s one of the best bacon weaves I think I’ve ever seen. Nice work John!
I bought the biggest shrimp I could find, sliced a little pocket in the bottom of the shrimp and stuffed it with pepper jack cheese, wrapped it in bacon and threw it on the grill. The cheese melted out of them for the most part, but they were still very delicious. These might be better with thinner bacon, it would crisp up faster so the shrimp wouldn’t overcook and it might hold in the cheese a little better.
I’ve been thinking about trying these for a while. I am glad I finally did, they were unbelievable. I still need to perfect them, but they were very tasty and I think they looked pretty good too. I need to find a way to keep the tops on which in turn will keep the cream cheese inside of them. As you can see from the pictures the cream cheese has bacon mixed in. I cooked these on the grill using indirect heat. They took a little longer than I thought, but the pepper still had a little crunch and the bacon was cooked nicely. I will be doing these more often, they were delicious.
