As Mrs. Baconninja, I often find myself caught up in the desire to add bacon to all recipes just to see what works. The Forum recently featured a story about bacon and the author was kind enough to include two bacon recipes, both of which interested me. Tonight I tried the first one, dark chocolate bacon cupcakes. I failed to take sufficient photos of the process…actually I failed to take ANY pictures in my excitement to try this chocolately-frosted pork fat creation. Lucky for me Baconnija stepped in and managed to get one picture of the final product before he ate the subject of the photo. I plan to try this recipe again and pledge to provide sufficient photographs next time. If you were fortunate enough to try one of these creations (and you know who you are!) I am accepting critisim, constructive or otherwise.

Not only Best in Appearance, but pretty darn tasty as well…

Only thing I would do different would be to add more peppers, maybe a small Habanero…

Over the week end I made Guacamole with the added bonus of bacon. Needless to say this stuff didn’t make through the night.

2 Avocados
1 Packet of Guacamole Seasoning
1 Tomato
8 Slices of Bacon

Tips for next time:

• Crisp the bacon a little bit more
• Add more bacon

This Bacon Breakfast Bake was made by a friend.  Nice work Travis!  Here’s his post:

First I pre cooked some chopped bacon and drained the grease to make a ‘graham cracker esque’ crust

 Frozen hashbrowns.  I think shreded would work fine if you prefer them over diced.

Under the bacon mat is 6 scrambled eggs with some milk and shredded pepper jack cheese

It takes a while to cook, I thought this was a good opportunity to take an ‘almost there’ picture

I think this was about 35-40 minutes of 400-425 heat.  you know you want some

So it’s Monday morning and nobody is excited to get back to work. But today, we had this tasty treat waiting for us in the cafeteria at work.

Bacon, Egg and Cheese Pizza should get anyone’s work week off on the right foot.

For the Love of Bacon, this was on msn.com this morning.  10 Top Bacon Recipes, everything from bacon wrapped shrimp (which we will be posting soon) to bacon and tomato guacamole.

What one ingredient can make nachos even more tasty?  Yep, BACON!  If you answered something else your on the wrong site. Try these for a great friday night snack.  Tip: As these nachos cooled the bacon flavor intesified.  My kids now scream for bacon nachos.
